Carnatic Music Summer Workshop (June 15th – August 15th)

Workshop on the following:

  • Pancharathna Krithis
  • Swathi Thirunal Krithis
  • Popular Krithis
  • Foundation (refresher course)

Eligibility:

  • Candidate should have learnt varnams and a few krithis
  • Candidates who want to do the refresher course should have completed training in the basics (sarali, jantai varisaigal, dhatu varisaigal, alankaras and geethams). The refresher course is only to revise what you have already learnt.

Duration:

2 months (2 classes a week)

Course Fee (per class):

Individual  - $20

Group of 2 - $15 each student

Group of 3 - $10 each student

Registration:

On or before 10th June.

Advanced Diploma in Carnatic Music

The Music Academy’s Advanced School of Carnatic Music is introducing a 4 year Advanced Diploma starting mid July 2010. The applicants are expected to have a minimum educational qualification of successfully completing the Higher Secondary Examination. The candidates must have a strong base in Carnatic Music and should be able to sing Manodharma Sangeetham. The number of seats available is ten. The list of faculty includes Sangita Kalanidhi Smt. R.Vedavalli, Sangita Kala Acharya Sri Chengalpet Ranganathan, Professor Ritha Rajan and Vidushi S. Sowmya. Eminent Musicians will also periodically conduct classes as visiting faculty.
